LW Andrew Brunette said the four off days between Saturday's win in Pittsburgh and Thursday's game against Vancouver "couldn't have come at a better time for me personally." Brunette's entire left side of his body has been hurt all season as he compensates from right knee reconstructive surgery in the off-season. "For the team, we probably would have liked to have kept it rolling, but it gave me a chance to heal myself," Brunette said. "I've managed it pretty well, but I have to pay a little closer attention to it as we go on. Sometimes I just have to take some time (off from practice)."

Brunette had two shots on goal and was a minus-2 in 25 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Nashville.
Recommendation: He missed Wednesday's pregame skate with an undisclosed injury, but it doesn't look like a concern.
