Myers to stay with Sabres

Buffalo Sabres general manager Darcy Regier announced today rookie defenceman Tyler Myers(notes) will remain with the team for the foreseeable future.

In nine games this season, Myers has registered two goals and three assist and is tied for fifth in team scoring. Over that span he is a plus-8.

The 6-8 defenceman scored the shootout winner in Buffalo’s 3-2 win against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Myers is still eligible to be returned to his junior team, the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.

As a 19-year-old with junior eligibility left, Myers is not able to be assigned to the team’s AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates.
