@michaelc: you my friend, are an idiot. like i said, ive seen Ott play since he came into the league. and the ONLY time i've seen him coward our during a fight was when he had a BROKEN hand, a pretty important body part needed to fight wouldn't you think? and just to let you know, Ott had 19 goals, 27 assists, for FORTY-SIX points. so he was doing something right last season. I'd also like to see the amount of penalties he has forced opposing players to take because he was driving them crazy.

MichaelC your an idiot, You don't watch The Stars play unless their playing one of your Left Coast teams. You can't get your info from youtube and expect win an argument. You wanna talk about goon's then let's talk about Claude Lemeuix, Todd Bertuzzi, Marty McSorley oh and one of the most suspended players still playing Chris Pronger. He's been suspended 8 times and I have rarley seen him fight. Steve Ott came up as a fighter with skill and has since cooled it mainly because the broken hand he suffered that still gives him problems.
    Go away dumb@ss.....

Michaelc- Robidas got hit in the face with a slap shot a couple of weeks ago. His chin has been stitched up but keeps getting reopened (most recently by a cross check that sent him head first into the boards that went uncalled).

Gawfadda you my friend couldn't not sound more ignorant. "i don't see any of you....." Aren't you late for school?

Ott very rarely stands up for anybody on his team, and he very seldom stands up and answers the bell. Morrow, yes, Ott very very seldom. He is a mouth, a punk, a cheap shot artist and a coward. PERIOD... And to say that every team has a player like this. Really, I can't honestly name one on the Kings or the Ducks to name a few teams. Sure these teams have guys that hit, but these teams don't have anybody that runs from a challenge... OTT = COWARD.

And what's the issue with Robidas this week. It seems every other week this little prick has some sort of cage or face guard on..

To: Bordy, The morons in Canada are weasel Bettman and his cronies that are doing their best to ruin hockey. FANS DONT WANT A DANCE PARTY, THEY WANT TO SEE REAL HOCKEY. At the speed that hockey is played at, some hits dont connect where they are intended. A knee to knee can hurt either player so I have a hard time believing that they are all done on purpose.

He deserve a few games and then some! Last year he had a clear knee on knee which is his M.O. on Patrick Sharp which was a bad non-call by the refs. Knee injuries have long term effects on the player--like head injuries and shouldn't be let go. Ott does this over and over again, game after game and season after season. About time a message was sent--even if it's not enough. The other player is out months while Ott walks away without a penalty or suspension--that's BS!

To the comment about the ... "morons in Canada" ... (made by KevinM ) who dished out the suspension ,,,, Dude -- really? Morons -- Huh .... just with a quick lookup -- http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/dal/roster

Shows that 14 of 21 (that would ahhhh ... be 66%) players are from Canada ... how ironic (or moronic) is your statement ......

What I want to know is where Scuderi's suspension is for his hit on Chimera? Seriously. Scuderi was down on one knee, Ott was just throwing a Big-Butt-Blake move.

I've looked at this "hit" several times and cannot see anything but a legal hip check. This is a hockey move that has been used forever, but not as often lately. Watch some older hockey film and you will see hip checks being made all over the ice.The refs knew it was legal and did not make a call. The Blues must have cried to the morons in Canada to get this suspension. As with many players, they can dish it out but can't take it. If you look at Ott's play, he takes people on head on and does not cheap shot players. This is after all hockey and not a dance contest.

Ott is a player who does get in your face and try and piss you off. That's his job, among other things on the ice. To all those who say he runs away form fights, I don;t see any of you stepping up to trade fists with him or anyone else. Some of you I have no doubt, play hockey. Kudos to you and you should understand what I am saying here. For the rest of you, stop yer whining! If you don't play the game, you have nothing to say. Ott did not get a call on the ice for this one, therefore, he should not be penalized by the league. The NHL management is really stepping in far too often. Let the refs decide the game and penalties. GO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dirty???...Who the hell is watching these games. It was all hip and because the Colaiacovo does a flip over him making it look more dramatic then the league has to step in. People that is what hockey is all about. If that is a bad hit then they should call "diving" on Colaiacovo it would be just as stupid of a call as suspending Ott. People want to see those hits as long as it's not deliberate then you should try to make a good hit and thats exactly what Ott did. Now I am a huge Stars fan and anybody that says Ott runs is a total idiot. He never runs in fact he starts alot of it because he is the Stars protector.

Hey, it's hockey, it's a contact sport! This is BS. There was no penalty called, so obviously someone whined and complained after the fact to get the suspension. What a shame that they just can't let hockey be hockey, instead they are turning it into a pingpong match. For all you who are praising this suspension, you're all a bunch of pansies who don't appreciate old school hockey.

The hip check was clean (if you don't think so the on ice officials, the Star's broadcasters, and St. Louis Broadcasters disagree with you) and he got suspended soley because of his reputation. If he knee on knee hit was dirty though.

what a worthless hockey player. last year vs Boston I saw him deliver at least 5 hits below the waist, then watched him run and hide when Milan Lucic and Shawn Thornton took exception to that sort of behavior. no place for that sort of behavior on the NHL.

Are you people talking about OTT in the NHL? I have seen Ott fight way more than most people in this league. He also backs his own players when they get hit dirty, unlike most in this league who are pansy's and just hug the opponent when it happens. I will take Ott's gritty style over any premadona player anyday. Ott doesn't fight 99% of the time lmao. That person who wrote that is smoking some good crap cause his brain is on high.

Ott doesn't hardly fight anymore because he has had several season shortening injuries because of it. a broken ankle a couple seasons ago, and a broken hand last season. which im pretty sure he still has a plate in it. ive watched Otter since he came into the league, and he has progressed every season. he is THE best agitator in the league, not to mention he put up VERY good stats last season.

Dirty hit. I saw some other hits by Ott on youtube. All dirty hits. Ott - Tucker - Peca - M. Richards - Ruutuu etc. All dirty oppurtunists who look to injure their opponent. They also refuse 99 % of the time to drop the gloves. The NHL should recognize these gutless pukes who run around looking to mame their opponent and slap them with a 25 game suspension. If they do it again, 50 games. It's funny how hard the NHL went after Avery when he said a couple of unappropriate words but they don't go after these thugs for trying to injure with every check they attempt.
