#23 dropthegloves, I sure hope that we don't have to put up with osgood for another 2 years. I was hoping that this would be his last year. Heck, a blind goalie could have stopped some of the goals that osgood let in. The Wings need to sit down right now and make their plans for next year and get on the phone with these other clubs. But, I think with Bowman gone, all the brains went as well. Look at them getting rid of Quincey and not being able to work something out with some of the guys like hossa, samuelson, and the rest of our GOAL SCORERS. For some reason, they think lebda, rafalski and a few other guys are THE ANSWER...holland has lost his mind. I don't care what they say, who they have right now, will getthem NO WHERE.

Wings clipper. Oilers beat injuries depleted Red Wings. They don't win that many road games any more. At least not this year. Cup contender? I don't think so! Osgood is getting old. Pretty soon Lidstrom has to retire. He's getting old too. I'll give Osgood two more years and after 2 years he must retire. Babcock will be fired in a year or 2. That's is my prediction. They end their cycle of success. They are not an elite team, not this year. I am a King fan. Detroit always have our numbers, but not this year. Kings will make it to the playoffs. Mark my words. They lost a tough game last night. Back-to-bakck games. They got the same scores on both. They lost 2-1 in the shootout to San Jose on Wed. night and 2-1 shoutout lost to Vancouver on Thu. night. They are still on top of the Pacific Division. I can't wait until the Red Wings come to town. AVs, Coyotes, and Kings surprise a lot of people. Go Kings!

Post # 10, Stranger in town, I agree with you 100%. I have been saying the same thing since we lost all our goal scorers. I was attacked with names and told that all our young guys will make up for our 80 plus goal losses, that's what I was told !! It wasn't Holland that evaluated all these players in the past..it was Bowman. It's funny, he is now gone, and look where we are..at the bottom. As for Lebda, he must be servicing the team or Illitch, because he should be gone. I said that last year and the year before. He cost them a lot of goals in the playoff's last year. The fact is, the wings don't know what to do anymore. After they lost all the guys they did, I said that this year would be a bust and I stand by my opinion. They are in big trouble with their goal tending and really need to address that soon. With a lot of cap space nevxt year, I hope that they can manage to bring in some great players and dump the sh*t they kept for way too long. I will always be a faan, but they are not going anywhere this year. Now that Bowman is where he is, with his son, I know they will now always be contenders. I don't think that the wings have played 60 solid minutes of hockey in over three years and haven't been able to keep a lead for over that. They get relaxes, the goal tender gets too@#$%y and the next thing you know, the other team has kicked their a**. They stop play after they get a lead. I think that maybe two more years or so and maybe they can manage to turn things around..as for this year..give it up.

well holland has to do something now , we got like 70% of our goals from last season either gone or hurt , got lots of cap space with these guys on the IR and 2 Goalies that can be dealt away. If Wings wanna make a 3rd cup appearance something has to change

Holland better get his hands out of his pockets and do something . He's done Sh*t so far this past year Giving away scoring and decent back up goaltending . He said he couldn't sign Hossa because then he couldn't sign Samuelson, Hudler or Conklin , so what happens he loses them anyway . Smart move , just like keeping lame ass Lebda , Rafalski and Meech and sending Kyle Quincy packing . Real smart . Now Quincey is developing into to a real NHL caliber defenseman , while these 3 losers he kept are just that losers . Yeah Holland has made some good moves in the past and gotten lucky combing the NHL scrap pile at the trade deadline , but lately his move are very questionable . Personally I think it was more Scotty Bowman than Holland , who was instrumental in building this team . He molded a plan and finally when the Wings bought into it they became winner for many years ..

listen, now that z and pavel are finally clicking i was actually thinking the wings could get things back to normal (minus that crappy goaltending...). but now with filp and franzen out, what is holland going to do next?
rumor has it, that holland is looking at frolov from the kings, and the kings coach and gm want him out anyways... but with money freeing up in the cap space (with filps and frazen out, i think thats like $5million), do you go out and trade for secondary scoring? or do you go after a goaltender? cuz lets face it, ozzie would be good as a backup, and howard is worthless... i am sure the wild wouldnt mind getting rid of josh harding, and maybe anaheim wants to trade giggy?... maybe we can work something out for a draft pick or two and a prospect... anything is better than what we have...
plus, look at the central division... wings are only two wins out of first in the division blackhawks... so GO WINGS!!!
