TORONTO (AP)—Dwayne Roloson(notes) made 58 saves—the most by an NHL goalie in 18 years—and Josh Bailey(notes) scored at 4:18 of overtime to give the New York Islanders a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night.

The 40-year-old Roloson improved to 7-2-5 this season. The last goalie to turn aside at least 58 shots was Ron Tugnutt, who had 70 saves for the Quebec Nordiques at Boston on March 21, 1991, according to STATS.

Bailey took a pass from Sean Bergenheim(notes) in overtime and slammed the puck into an open net. It was the Islanders’ only shot of the extra period. Jeff Tambellini(notes), Matt Moulson(notes) and Bergenheim also scored for New York.

Phil Kessel(notes), Wayne Primeau(notes) and Niklas Hagman(notes) scored for the Maple Leafs (4-11-7), who outshot the Islanders 61-21.

Penguins 3, Panthers 2, OT

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP)—Sidney Crosby(notes) scored on a power play at 3:07 of overtime and Pittsburgh rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period to beat Florida.

Pascal Dupuis(notes) and Michael Rupp(notes) also scored for the Penguins, who won consecutive games in regulation for the first time since Oct. 17 and 20. Evgeni Malkin(notes) had two assists.

Marc-Andre Fleury(notes) stopped 19 shots for the Penguins, who outshot Florida 45-21.

Nathan Horton(notes) and Keith Ballard(notes) scored for the Panthers, who have lost only once in regulation in their last 12 games (8-1-3). Michael Frolik(notes) had two assists, and Tomas Vokoun(notes) made 42 saves.

This was the second time in two meetings this season that the Penguins trailed 2-0 after two periods and won the game.

The Penguins got a 4-minute power play at 1:25 of overtime when Horton was penalized for high-sticking.

Predators 3, Red Wings 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Martin Erat(notes) scored two goals and Nashville beat Detroit for its sixth straight victory.

The streaking Predators finished off a five-game homestand in style and have won 10 of 12 overall.

Jason Arnott(notes) also scored a power-play goal for Nashville. Pekka Rinne(notes), who has been in net for each game during this run, stopped 30 shots for the win.

Drew Miller(notes) scored for Detroit, which has lost three of four.

Rangers 7, Blue Jackets 4

NEW YORK (AP)—Marian Gaborik(notes) again sparked the Rangers’ offense with two goals and two assists, but this time he had lots of long-awaited help in New York’s victory over Columbus.

Sean Avery(notes) also scored twice and Henrik Lundqvist(notes) made 26 saves for the Rangers, who strung together seven straight goals after falling behind 2-0.

New York scored three times in the first to take the lead and then added four goals in the second against Blue Jackets starting goalie Steve Mason(notes) and beleaguered backup Mathieu Garon(notes).

Rookie defensemen Michael Del Zotto(notes) and Matt Gilroy(notes) also scored for the Rangers. Artem Anisimov(notes) had a goal and two assists.

Senators 4, Capitals 3, OT

OTTAWA (AP)—Mike Fisher(notes) scored 1:14 into overtime, giving Ottawa a comeback victory over Washington.

Fisher batted Chris Phillips’(notes) centering pass out of the air and past Semyon Varlamov(notes) for his 10th goal of the season. Brian Elliott(notes) made 25 saves in his fifth start for the Senators, who rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period to win their fourth in a row and wrap up a 4-0-1 homestand.

Alexandre Picard and Chris Neil(notes) scored in a span of 4:20 early in the third to tie it for Ottawa. Peter Regin(notes) gave the Senators a 1-0 lead 7:27 in before they allowed three straight goals.

Rookie Jay Beagle(notes) got his first NHL goal to put Washington up 3-1 in the second after Chris Clark(notes) and Brendan Morrison(notes) scored in the first.

Bruins 4, Blues 2

ST. LOUIS (AP)—Patrice Bergeron(notes) had four assists, two on power-play goals and another short-handed, to help Boston beat St. Louis for its first three-game winning streak of the season.

Milan Lucic(notes) got the go-ahead goal midway through the second period and Marco Sturm(notes) scored short-handed midway through the third for a two-goal cushion on Boston’s 20th shot against Chris Mason(notes).

Blake Wheeler(notes) and Mark Recchi(notes) also scored for the defending Northeast Division champions, who are 11-8-4. They had twice won consecutive games this season before beating St. Louis for only the third time in 18 meetings since 1996-97.

Defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo(notes) had a goal and an assist, and Keith Tkachuk(notes) scored on a deflection for the Blues, who failed in an attempt for their first three-game winning streak. St. Louis had won consecutive games for the first time since taking a pair from the Red Wings in Sweden to open the season.

Stars 2, Hurricanes 0

DALLAS (AP)—Marty Turco(notes) stopped 22 shots for his 38th career shutout, rookie Jamie Benn(notes) scored a power-play goal in the first period and Dallas beat Carolina.

Brad Richards(notes) added a power-play goal in the third as the Stars followed up Saturday night’s 5-3 home win over New Jersey to give Dallas consecutive home victories in regulation for the first time since it defeated Vancouver and Edmonton on Feb. 13 and 19.

Manny Legace(notes) made 27 saves while the Hurricanes remained winless on the road this season (0-8-3). Carolina had won two straight and was coming off its best streak of the season (3-0-2 in its previous five).

Avalanche 5, Flyers 4

DENVER (AP)—David Jones(notes) scored twice, Paul Stastny(notes) had a goal and two assists and Colorado stopped a two-game skid with a win over Philadelphia.

Craig Anderson(notes) stopped 30 shots for Colorado, which was 3-6-1 in its previous 10 games after a surprisingly strong start to the season.

Daniel Briere had two goals and two assists and Jeff Carter(notes) had two goals for the Flyers, who nearly rallied from a three-goal deficit in the third period.

With the game tied 2-all in the second period, the Avalanche scored three unanswered goals. Cody McLeod(notes) scored his fifth at 6:03 and Scott Hannan(notes) chased goalie Ray Emery(notes) with his second 3:06 later.

Oilers 4, Coyotes 0

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP)—Jeff Deslauriers made 36 saves for his first NHL shutout, and Sheldon Souray(notes) and Ales Hemsky(notes) scored a team-record 7 seconds apart to lead Edmonton over Phoenix.

Ethan Moreau(notes) and Shawn Horcoff(notes) also scored for the Oilers, who have won two of three on a season-high five-game homestand after a stretch of 11 losses in 14 games.

The Coyotes have dropped two of three and are yet to win consecutive games this month.

Moreau beat goalie Ilya Bryzgalov(notes) at 7:59 of the first period. Edmonton then quickly opened a three-goal cushion when Souray scored at 11:07 and Hemsky at 11:14.

Ducks 3, Flames 2, SO

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)—Jean-Sebastien Giguere(notes) made 41 saves in his first victory of the season despite allowing Jarome Iginla’s(notes) tying goal with 18 seconds left in regulation, and Teemu Selanne(notes) scored the only shootout goal in Anaheim’s victory over Calgary.

Ryan Getzlaf(notes) and Bobby Ryan(notes) scored goals, and Corey Perry(notes) extended his scoring streak to a career-best 15 games in the Ducks’ 10th straight home victory over the Flames.

The win was just Anaheim’s fifth in 16 games, but it pulled the Ducks out of last place in the Western Conference.

Miikka Kiprusoff(notes) made 29 saves for Calgary.
