This isn't some jabroni defenseman Dave Bolland(notes) of the Chicago Blackhawks undresses for a goal Sunday night against the Nashville Predators; it's Ryan Suter(notes), a plus-21 entering the game.
But Bolland froze him with a toe-drag, blew past him and tucked the puck behind Anders Lindback(notes) on a gorgeous goal, his second of the night:
Goal of the year candidate? Blackhawks fans are marking out over it, but c'mon now: Alex Burmistrov's goal back in November had the same kind of defensive abuse and a much better move on the goalie to finish. Not to say Bolland's goal wasn't stellar.
On Jan. 15, we named Dave Bolland the first-half goat for the Blackhawks. But in the second half of the season, he's been torrid: 4 goals in his last four games, including tonight. Which isn't all that goat-ish.
