Here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.

Preview: Detroit Red Wings at Vancouver Canucks, 10 p.m. EST. Now that the Maple Leafs have started their run to the Stanley Cup, there are five teams remaining in the NHL that have yet to register a road victory -- and the Red Wings are one of them. Valtteri Filppula(notes) and Kris Draper(notes) could be used up and down the lineup tonight. Darren Helm(notes) is a healthy scratch. Chris Osgood(notes) vs. Roberto Luongo(notes) for the Nucks, who are 5-1 at home. Watch The Game Live On Y! Sports.
Preview: Colorado Avalanche at Edmonton Oilers, 9:30 p.m. EST. In theory, this is an entertaining game between two fun teams playing a bit better than expected. In reality, it's one team whose goalie just came down with swine flu visiting another team whose locker room is like a flu-riddled Petri dish. You may want to wear a surgical mask while watching this on Center Ice.
Preview: Philadelphia Flyers at Washington Capitals, 7 p.m. EST. By the time you read this, the game will have started. Box score here.
Evening Reading
• Hmmm ... the return of the Nordiques vs. high-speed rail? Wonder what the people want. [CP]
• Pierre LeBrun is correct when he writes that the New Jersey Devils are going to really miss Paul Martin(notes) while he's injured. [ESPN]
• Simon Gagne(notes) has two small hernias in his groin and could need surgery. The Puck Daddy fantasy team is, as usual, built on a foundation of wet toilet tissue. [NHL]
• The Ottawa Senators send blue-chip defenseman Erik Karlsson(notes) to the Binghamton Senators of the AHL, and what it means. [Silver Seven]
• Finally, Los Angeles Kings Coach Terry Murray doesn't buy that Rob Scuderi's(notes) check on Jason Chimera(notes) deserved punishment: "It's a great play. He's fronting the man that's carrying the puck. The puck gets chipped in and immediately the hit is there. It's a good hit." OK then. [LA Kings Insider]
Puck Buddy Comment of the Day: From Twoeightnine on the Columbus Blue Jackets' tattoo video we ran in the headlines:
"I'm pretty sure Umberger has Brian Campbell's(notes) shoulder tattooed on his chest."
Awesome.
Bold Prediction: Bertuzzi scores in Vancouver.

"yes, todd bertuzzi is the missing piece that we needed to win the cup." those are words that will never be spoken

believe me I'm not a bertuzzi fan....he shouldn't have been here the first time let alone wings signing him for a whole year this time around I'm just saying that him being -2 tonight is largely due to osgood having a lousy night imo.......both goals should have and have to be stopped by a NHL goalie...especally by a veteran like him.....
