Here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.

Preview: Dallas Stars at Detroit Red Wings, 7:30 p.m. EST. Jimmy Howard(notes) gets the start for the Wings, as Chris Osgood(notes) wants you to know that he did not, repeat did not, have the flu. But the big goaltending news is that Marty Turco(notes) is sitting in favor of Alex Auld for Dallas ... OK, not exactly big news, considering Turco hasn't exactly played his best hockey in Detroit historically. The Wings don't have a regulation loss at the Joe (7-0-1) and are looking for their fifth win in a row.
Preview: Phoenix Coyotes at Minnesota Wild, 8 p.m. EST. The Coyotes are trying to snap a seven-game road losing streak against Minnesota. The Wild, meanwhile, are trying to preserve their sellout streak by any means necessary, according to Michael Russo. Watch The Game Live Via Hockey Night on Y!
Preview: Philadelphia Flyers at Los Angeles Kings, 10:30 p.m. EST. All eyes on Alex Frolov tonight, as we mentioned earlier. Broad Street Hockey has everything you need to know about this long distance rivalry. Watch The Game Live Via Hockey Night on Y!
Check out the Y! Sports scores and schedule page for previews of the other three games tonight.
Evening Reading
• Sidney Crosby(notes) runs the Olympic torch. [Metro Canada]
• The St. Louis Blues allow fans to narc on rowdy people in their section via text messaging. [Blues]
• Check out former New York Rangers winger Darren Turcotte on Blueshirt Radio this evening. [Blueshirt Banter]
• Good back and forth on the Anaheim Ducks' top line, and whether they're being asked to do too much. [Anaheim Calling]
• It's early in the process, but Theo Fleury(notes) says he wants to pursue charges against Graham James. [Sportsnet]
• Why wasn't Cam Ward(notes) already on long-term injured reserve? [Canes Country]
Puck Buddy Comment of the Day: On the Barry Trotz vs. the arena clock story, here's GT --
"Trotz should know by now that everything moves slower in the south. This ain't fancy like and fast paced Manitoba down in these here parts!"
Bold Prediction: Feelin' a Nathan Horton(notes) goal against Buffalo.

yes, there's intent to blow the whistle, but the shot went in cleanly...it wasn't loose in the crease or trickling in...so the referee must have had his intent to blow the whistle before the shot was even taken...
in this case, it is impossible for the referee to have intended to blow the whistle before the puck was in the net. let's hope some video gets thrown up here for all to see.

Watch @ 2:18 there was no intent. The ruling on the ice made no mention of intent. I can't justify how toronto wasnt able to overturn this and make it a goal. It is the worst no goal i have ever seen.
I settle down to watch a hockey game. The refs make a bunch of chincy little useless penalty calls (both ways) so i'm already on edge. Then i see this no goal. It's making a mockery of this great game, and the purpose of having video review in the first place.

why does the Toronto 'war room' even exist?
In other words, exactly what IS the role of the 'war room'...
to give some guys (with no real authority) a job, while they watch the game(s) on monitors?
To give any referee the 'power of intent' is paving the way for serious issues of mis-trust.
This is not the 1950's... We have T E C H N O L O G Y now to help insure that the right call is made.
Why is the NHL refusing to use it?
