In his short time as a pop superstar, Canadian icon Justin Bieber has had some pretty damn cool hockey experiences. He was honored by the Philadelphia Flyers with his own sweater. He carried the Stanley Cup. He played air hockey against The Great One.
On Saturday night, the Biebs and his ladyfriend Selena Gomez were allowed to skate on the MTS Centre ice following the Winnipeg Jets' win over the Carolina Hurricanes — in their own Jets sweaters. Awwwwww …
From the Winnipeg Free Press:
Justin Bieber has treated girlfriend Selena Gomez to just about the full Winnipeg.
The Jets, check. Tim Hortons, check. The Forks, check. And while they seem to have missed at least most of the Bombers game, it was so they could have a candlelit dinner on the Nonsuch at the Manitoba Museum.
The teen stars were spotted at the Jets game and tied up their skates to hit the MTS Centre ice surface afterwards, where Texas-born Gomez didn't look quite as comfortable on skates as her Canuck squeeze.
So … Pass or Fail? PASS, of course, assuming the jerseys are gifts from the team, which is an exception to the usual personalized jersey fouls.
Congrats on your spiffy new sweaters, Justin Bieber, No. 6, and Selena Gomez, No. 9. But Justin: Make sure you do something she wants to do next time. Relationships are a give-and-take.
