At one point in the 2007 season, defensive coordinator Bob Sutton was asked about how the Jets' defensive personnel didn't quite fit their 3-4 scheme. He began his reply by telling the questioner, "We've been down that road before."

Another road the Jets traveled in 2007 appears to be on their itinerary again. That is, the offseason contract dispute with a disgruntled veteran that spills into training camp.

Last season, the man at the center of the controversy was left guard Pete Kendall, who wanted a $1 million raise for the 2007 season, and held almost-daily briefings with the media in which he aired his grievances.

That dubious distinction in 2008 has gone to Chris Baker, who is unhappy with the $683,500 he is scheduled to make this season in the third year of...

A federal judge has given a New York Jets season-ticket holder more time to amend a lawsuit that seeks millions from the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick for "deceiving customers" by videotaping opponents' signals.
