Apr 28 Notes: The Chiefs took a wide receiver in the first round for the first time since 1971, selecting Dwayne Bowe of Louisiana State in Saturday's draft. The 6-2 Bowe could be the tall receiver the Chiefs have been looking to complement speedster Eddie Kennison, who is 34 years old. The Chiefs took wide receiver Elmo Wright with their first-round pick in 1971. ... Kansas City helped its defensive line after the selection of Bowe, taking end Turk McBride of Tennessee in the second round and tackle DeMarcus "Tank" Tyler of North Carolina State in the third round.
