Simms headed to Atlanta?

It's possible that the Atlanta Falcons next quarterback could be on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster.

While Buccaneers quarterbacks Jeff Garcia, Bruce Gradkowski and Luke McCown have roster spots all but locked up, Chris Simms does not.

Simms would be the type of quarterback that would greatly appeal to Atlanta--if he were a free agent, which Tampa Bay could decide to make him this weekend.

Mike be beneficial to hang on to Simms, especially if the points shaving scandal surrounding Gradkowski is for real.

He hasn't been s@#! since he's been in the NFL. If it weren't for his daddy's heroics, he'd be QB'ing in the Arena League or selling cars at a dealership. There's nothing like "pedigree", Eli and Scooter Manning were supposed to have it but it all wen't to Peyton and Phil's kid who's QB'ing in college must have got what Chrissy's was supposed to get. Atlanta needs to get JaMarcus, who is languishing in A-town, not a never-was like Simms.

Don't wish bad for Atlanta, but do want to see Simms hit the road from Tampa. Simms has been a starter.. and was great.. Genes gave him the tallent and build to be a quarterback... Texas coaches thought they could teach him how to be a quarterback, and Gruden thought he could correct what Texas did, and make him a pro quarterback.. This was all before the spleen.. When is someone going to stop the madness and tell this kid to get a job selling insurance!

JaMarcus Russell? Never. Al Davis won't let him go. He'll be signed by Monday. I'd pass on Simms. There are better QB's out there that will become free agents after this cut.

Simms has potential to be good, but I dont know about great. His dad was great but I havent seen it in Simms yet. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because Gruden couldnt coach a quarterback if Joe Montana wrote instructions on the back of the QB's helmet. Get this kid on a team looking to move the ball down the field instead of talking about that superbowl they won with the team Tony Dungy built and I think Simms could show us something.

Great.!! Set the boy up on another chance to fail on a chaotic team. Simms could be a servicable QB in this league but not on a team without good direction. If they added Simms, then Atlanta would have two unproven veteran QB's. No one knows how Joey will do and if he gets hurt, the backup (Simms, or vice-versa) would be just as unknown. Too much inconsistency to game plan around. I wouldn't want to put any new coach through that if I were Blanc.

@#*%$ Simms...he won't last and he definitely isn't the QB of the future for Atlanta...or any other team for that matter. He isn't even a quick fix. We should go for Leftwich for a one year contract, and see what he's made of.
