NFL - Sports Rumors

“SammyNew England Patriots running back Sammy Morris(notes) has been out since Week 6 when he exited the game against the Tennessee Titans with a torn medial-collateral ligament.

At the time, it wasn't clear just how bad the tear was, but as he continues to miss game after game, it appears that it wasn't tiny. Now it's looking like Morris will be out for two more weeks and won't be back in action till Week 11 against the New York Jets, according to the Boston Herald.

The longer he takes to get back, the slower coach Bill Belichick will be about working him into the lineup.

No reason to sign Edge if Morris will only miss 2 more games. Belichick still considers Maroney the #1 back, and they still have Faulk and Green-Ellis, two very serviceable backups until Morris is ready. Green-Ellis could be the one who emerges by the end of the season as the go to RB for this team. He has the most talent and biggest upside.

Yeah after several winnings seasons and 3 SBs in which 2 were back2back. An undefeated Regular season which no one can boast of except Miami. a 23 Game winning streak. The Pats are flying under the radar.Sure the Pats suck.
Pats have only Dominated the NFL in the New Millenium.

Another Pats hater i guess, 5-2 is considered a bad year up here. Watch out and dont be surprised if the Pats take down 2 undefeated teams in the month of November

It is unfortunate for Morris. But I think that between Maroney, BJGE, Faulk, and Belichick, the Pats run game will be enough to get the job done. I just wish that Maroney would run like he did against the Titans. None of this dancing around crap. Just hit your hole and turn on the burners. And is it just me, or is Faulk money every time he is in the game. It seems like all he does is get first downs with a few TD's mixed in for good measure.

It will be good to get Morris back, he's a no nonsense hard runner. Maroney has been better in the last couple of games, but he still has that irritating tendency to dance around behind the line of scrimmage. So far this year, knock on wood, the Pats have been pretty lucky not to lose too many players to IR. Indy lost an LB and a CB just this week. But this is a very tough 4 game stretch coming up, with Indy and NO currently undefeated, and Miami and NYJ always psyched to play NE. I worry about the defense's lack of experience together showing up at critical moments, especially against QB's like Brees and Manning.

To Post # 16-anitkiewicz2, really amazing -huh? Its soooo funny that a Dolphins fan has the balls to say something he knows liitle or nothing about. A generalization to say the least. you know what I find funny? I can go to any Dolphins game, and I've been to a few, walk write up to the ticket window and but tickets as the Dolphin are never soldout. I only wish I could do that for the Pats. Maybe you need bandwagon fans to fill that stadium up?
