Cutler Spreads Blame from Week 8 Game

—> Bears QB Jay Cutler(notes) was beat up coming out of last Sunday's win against the Browns. He was sacked four times and spent much of the game on the run, leading to much criticism of his line.

Cutler deflected blame, saying, "It's a mixed bag. I've got to get rid of the ball. We've got to throw our hot (routes). It takes more than just the line blocking. It's all 11 guys."

The Bears reshuffled their rotation last week with Josh Beekman(notes) starting at left guard over Frank Omiyale(notes), but the results weren't promising. One problem is the Bears haven't done a good job of restocking the line. They've drafted just two linemen in the first five rounds over the past seven years.

Bears need an offensive line to protect their new QB and they need some wide receivers to catch the ball from their new QB.

For years fans blamed the QB, well we got a good one now and it's showing other flaws. There is always next year to regroup....

The Bears are barely mediocre, again. And so is their QB.

Well, well - so it starts in Chi-town - throwing teammates under the bus - but at least he's trying to veil it some. Here in Denver he did about the same thing. It doesn't mean he doesn't have a valid point, but it's never a good idea to call your linemen out in the media. Only time will tell, but I'm not sure da Bears got quite what they had hoped in the trade, and despite his competitive fire and talent, I'm glad (as are many Bronco fans) that he's now not our problem.
