Kansas City Chiefs are awarded WR Chris Chambers via waiver claim
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Chiefs have announced Tuesday they have been awarded wide receiver Chris Chambers(notes) via waiver claim a day after he was let go by San Diego.
Originally a second-round pick by Miami in 2001, Chambers has made 111 starts with the Dolphins and Chargers and caught 482 passes for 6,827 yards and 53 touchdowns. The Chargers waived Chambers on Monday.
From 2007-09, he played in 31 games for San Diego, catching 77 passes for 1,139 yards and 10 scores. Wide receiver has been a position of need all season for the Chiefs (1-6).
