Redskins’ Snyder again expresses disappointment

LANDOVER, Md. (AP)—Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder remains disappointed in his team’s performance this season. Just don’t ask him whether changes are on the way.

For the second time in less than a month, Snyder made in-season comments at a charity event. After handing out turkeys at the team’s stadium on Tuesday, he told reporters, “We’re all very, very disappointed, and obviously I’m as disappointed as everyone. And we’re hoping to get things straightened out in the near future.”

Snyder used a charity event to apologize to fans three weeks ago, but on both occasions he avoided answering specific questions about the team. He ended the session after 45 seconds on Tuesday when a reporter asked if fans could expect changes.

The Redskins are 3-7.

Mr. Synder should stop saying he is disappointed in his product. He simply needs to go about his business and find ways to improve his product. Be the man in the mirror. I am sure there are things he can do better such as pick better advisors. I am tired of hearing all the bandwagon fans talk about the QB. These fans have shown over time that they do not know a quality QB when they have one. There past QB have been driven out of town and became stars on other teams. Brad Johnson even won a super bowl. So Synder the problem is not really your QB play. Try looking at your offensive line. It is not surprising to me that when the running game has improved that your QB play has improved as well. Jason does not throw a lot of turnovers. Yes he does get hit from the blind side and fumble more than I like but onces again that takes me back to the offensive line. This is a team that has spent the last couple of years drafting wide receivers and no lineman. When the line can hold for a play or two those wide receivers do get open and pretty much catch everything thrown their way. Once again it takes me back to the offensive linemen. So if you want to fix the problem, start with your GM and fire him and allow the new GM to draft some linemen. You have taken your coaches manhood so now you must deal with a QB learning a new set of plays. 6 playbooks in 6 years. Very difficult to handle. Most of us cannot remember things from grades K-6, so give the guy a brake. If you question that logic than why is that you cannot help your kids with their homework. Why do we have a game show called "Are you smarter than a 5th grader".

Regarding #304 comment, that is absolutely brilliant. Also Vinny Cerrato is clown shoes with bulging drug-induced eyeball action.

Fellow citizens, I love football too, but Mr. Snyder's impassioned plea for forgiveness from the fans has the sound of a death-bed mea culpa. Mr. Snyder may be wealthy, but wealth does not equal omnipotence. The Redskins lose games because they are human beings pitted against other human beings. Mr. Snyder talks as if he owes the fans a win every time out. Noone can deliver that, and thank goodness, because otherwise there'd be no joy in playing. In my view, what Mr. Snyder owes his fans is the decency to acknowledge the skill of the teams who best his on the field, the humility to admit he can't possibly deliver wins even when his team is superior, and the character to stand behind his team when others are quitting on them. What Redskin ticket-buyers owe Mr. Snyder is the character to stand behind their team when they lose - any other reaction smacks of the same arrogance I believe Mr. Snyder is guilty of. If Redskin ticket-buyers can't support the team in the down years - and there will be down years, they are human beings - then I suggest they spend their money instead on things over which they exercise greater control, such as music lessons for their kids, or .

Ladies and gentlemen, when (not if, when) our team isn't performing on the field, it's time to stop pretending we've been mortally wounded. The sun rises on Monday morning and the real world deserves the best we can give it. Mr. Snyder, it's time to stop pretending you can deliver wins - the other team is proof that you cannot. If your organization is working as hard as you say they are, and they have the competence to do their jobs, then you've done yours. Otherwise, do what needs to be done. And even then you'll lose, because you're human, and so are they.

Ok, this is a way long and drawn out convo, Big Nate I hope we got a TOP 10 Pick, thats just another talent being pulled into our franchise that's rebuilding from the ground up. That ground is Haynesworth, he constantly demands 2-3 men to block him, so that's a good sign. Anyone who doubts Portis on here, or thinks he's over paid, needs to remember what he does when the offense is balanced; not just running on 1st and 2nd down. Campbell has shown that he isn't the QB we need, I say we give Colt Brennan he's chance

i agree about getting the tuna (parcells) i told my dad the other day. look at miami, dallas, new england, and the giants. he struck out in ny with the jets but 4 out a 5 ain't bad. the skins would be fine except for snyder and cerrato.

Big nate, you're missing the point...why dont they get rid of portis, moss, Campbell, and other under performers to free up some money for o line men.....you dont get rid of your only effective weapon to get new ones....and $100 mil is over 7 years with hundreds of stipulations...he will only see half that money

the d is not the problem....both d hall and haynesworth are worth the money......the problems are landry, rodgers, smoot and all the other over paid players that suck
if you're good, you're worth the money

It is the fault of the offense.....Case in point was the game against the Eagles. The Skin's defense totally shutdown McNabb and the offense of the Eagles. The offense however: Two turnovers which lead to points for the Eagles, and an interception that went for a td. The Redskins offense is horrible and it is tough to watch. The defense has been better than ok, but when the offense has not scored over 17 points in a game, we have no chance. I would be surprised if the Skins win another game all year. THEY STINK!!!

Hey 296. Albert hasn't earned his money yet. The Skins are 2-5. Your saying its the offense fault for not winning. It takes a team to win. Enjoy a TOP TEN PICK IN THE DRAFT. 100 million dollars for one player is a joke. The Skins could have gotten 4 good O-Line Men and 1 Good DT to fit the Coachs System. But Dan does what he always does and that is pay big bucks for one player.

Haynesworth has already earned his money this year....anybody that knows anything would agree

No Dan, you are embarASSing. You've made our Redskins what they are today by dipping your finger too deep into the peanut butter. Butt out and let your management team do their thing. I'll honestly bet we'll have a division champion in three years!

Also, stop treating the paying customers soooo disrespectfully! You are a far more rude person than your paying/supporting fan base who are sick and tired of losing year in and year out!

I feel sorry for you Skin Fans, The Falcons are going to be kicking the Skins but all over the filed. When the Skins Coach got told that he wasn't going to be able to call plays anymore, that right there made the players give up on your coach, But I think that they already gave up on the Coach before the Season started when Dan gave Albert 100 million dollars. I also think that the Players on the Skins think that the Skins are just like the Radiers on giveing big bucks to a Free Agent that isn't worth that 100 million. He isn't a QB. Look what the Radiers did to Randy Moss, He didn't do anything for them but jsut picked up his chech every week. Now that hes on the Patriots he is doing great for them.

Ben, The All Time Record isn't helping the Cowboys win games. Its just showing what the all time record is and about the rivarly between the Skins and Cowboys. The last time the Cowboys Won a Play Off Game was back in 1996. The Cowboys haven't won a Play Off Game this decade yet, But this is the year that they do win at least one play off game. Cowboys are 5-2. Skins are 2-5. Skins arn't going to the Play Off this year. Enjoy a Top Ten Pick In The Draft. Skins are a JOKE. The Lions beat the Skins, The Chiefs Beat the Skins. Ha Ha Ha. I'm surprise the Skins arn't trying to swich with a team from the NFC WEST so that they can go play in a weak division where they belong becuase they can't hang with the Cowboy, Birds, G-men.
