Patriots release former Steelers G Simmons

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP)—The New England Patriots have released guard Kendall Simmons(notes).

Friday’s move came after Simmons was inactive for six of his seven games with the team. He played only on special teams on Oct. 18 in a 59-0 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Simmons, 30, signed with the Patriots on Sept. 6 after being waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers. They chose him with the 30th pick of the first round in 2002 out of Auburn and he started all 80 games in which he played during seven seasons with Pittsburgh. He missed the entire 2004 season with a right knee injury and was limited to four games last year by a right Achilles’ tendon injury.

    I don't believe Patriots and Pittsburg doing right toward Kendall Simmons. U need to be truthfully about the sitution. I just don't believe it.

    Yes the Steelers have 6, but 5&6 have * because they beat NFC WEST teams and well all know that has been the worst division in recent years.

    RING5- Excellent Seattle team requires the Curtain to pay refs to make horrible calls, Ben Worhtlessburger said he didn't make it to the endzone on the carry and was shocked they had to review the play on Leno.

    RING6- Cardinals lmfao, their fans used to root for the other team at home when the Cards are losing, I seen it. They limped into the playoffs, and DelHomme throws 5 Intros in the Championship game. I call that a crackerjack prize pulled out and a free trip to the SuperBowl. Therefore....

    Steelers rings 5* and 6* are Cracker Jack rings pulled out of a box.

    Who wouldn’t you be happy?

    You have a QB that can throw the ball accurately down field .....a great defense and a head coach that isn’t above cheating with owners who don't mind paying-off refs.

    I hate the steelers they win to much they cheat they have 6 rings bla bla bla thats what you sound like,be a real football fan and act like a MAN! You must be on the young side since I no I know more about the Steal Curtain then you ever will child,grow up and give teams there props, the Steelers are a great team and have a great org and they always have and thank god we had the Kraft Family come in like the Rooney Family ,thats where it all starts at the top and the Steelers were blessed early on and now the Pat have it and now it's the players on the field that decided the game, the teams that have bad ownership have bad teams for years and we all no those teams since they have never been at the top and if they have it did'nt last more then a year or 2 if they were lucky.Thats football inside and out!Learn my son!

    Not for nothing but the Steelers and Pats are alot alike, good team, great players,2 Qb's with hot females and alot of rings so whats the problem with all the steeler fans and players taking smack, it's like talking about yourself so just root for your team and hopefully you will get to the big one, Pats players never brag and believe me they have the ammo and w all no that so thats says alot so all the haters, please give it a break. I remember when everyone was on Bledsoe when he was on point that he was soft,could'nt take a hit. Well til this day I have'nt seen a QB take a shot or shots like Drew did standing still like a oak tree and get slammed more then any QB in the league and set the record for fewest games missed in a row!Now thats a FACT!

    Why is it when a team puts together a few good seasons it's okay but when a team turns into a Dynasty like the Cowboys of old and the Niners,Steelers all the haters come out and start saying the refs favor this one and that one,can a team just be good, make good moves like trading Seymor for what will probably be a great pick next year.They had to make achoice to be around for a year or 2 or be around for 10 like they have been? Bledsoe started putting the Pats back on the map,I watched them when they were 1 and 15and 3 and 13 and on and on and no one cared but don't be a good team with longevity in this league because if you are you cheat!

    I don't know what your watching but Chilo Rachle is our 2nd best blocker now. Hietman is decent, Staley was great but Simms and Snyder and Bass should all be benched before Chilo Rachle.

    Simmons was good for the Steelers ,other than his rookie year when he got called for false starts every game, aleast twice.He needs to take a year off and then comeback.

    I heard Brady is wearing a dress for the game - might just as well....the Steelers will win it all again this year.....back to back baby. Im glad Porter put these cheating Pat in their place, and come gameday, he will again.
