Chargers sign LB Holt to active roster
SAN DIEGO (AP)—The San Diego Chargers have signed rookie linebacker James Holt(notes) from the practice squad to fill the roster spot created when wide receiver Chris Chambers(notes) was released.
Holt originally joined the Chargers in May as a free agent. He was released at the conclusion of training camp and added to the practice squad.
The Chargers need a linebacker because Tim Dobbins(notes) is expected to be out for two weeks after sustaining a knee injury in Sunday’s 24-16 win over Oakland.
The Chargers signed linebacker Jeremy Leman(notes) to the practice squad.
General manager A.J. Smith didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.
