On the Corner, podcast #29: The undefeated and the oft-defeated

On this football Friday, Danks and I look at the undefeated teams in the NFL -- the Colts, Broncos and Saints -- and try to predict who will stay undefeated the longest, and if anyone can make a run at 16-0.

On the other side of the coin, there are the winless teams -- the Buccaneers, Titans and Rams. We look at who has the best chance of hitting 0-16, and spoiler alert: The conversation doesn't go well for you, Bucs. We also squeeze the Redskins into the conversation about winless teams, just because it feels like that's where they belong.

Elsewhere, we've got the standard weekly features, such as the Abusive E-mail of the Week, which this time around, is a doozy. In fact, it's the most abusive in podcast history, and I don't think there's a close second. It's very heavy on "beeps." You have a potty mouth, Glenn Saddler.

And here are the games we pick this week. On the season, I maintain a one-game advantage over Danks. Home teams in CAPS.

    The Raider Faiders could have easily been winless since their 2 wins were very close and the fact that they have played miserably thus far this season. Lucky to have 2 wins, very lucky. Maybe next year they will be winless, I mean they don't have anything really to look forward to anyway. You know, The Pats have their number one pick in the draft (traded for Seymore) and you know that was another huge mistake by the Raiders. For the Raiders to win, they must unload their current busts (Mcfumble, Butterfingers Bey, and J. Bust) as soon as possible. Currently, they have a recipe for disaster as a roster.

    Juan obviously hasn't seen any of the games. For Heyward-Bey to catch a ball, it would actually have to arrive in his zip code. Mallard, I look forward to the lightning bugs seeing the same fate as the Eagles (a better team.)

    Juan: for the Raiders to be the "Faiders," they would have to be in the habit of blowing leads to lose games. Well, the Raiders haven't had any leads to blow. What leads they have had, they've won with.
    You can call the Raiders a lot of things, but not Faiders.

    Attention Juan (#7), stick to pickin' lettuce. Obviously you've spent most of your life in the fields 'cause you don't know JACK about football, either that or you must have crystal balls to be able to tell if someones a bust or not. Another dumb a$$.
    Oh, mjd does suck. A queen 49er fan pretending to know about football, like the typical white winer. He must have something on someone up the ladder at Yahoo to land this gig. My wife could write better sports columns than this putz. And that's pathetic. Almost time to block Yahoo sports and stick with the big guys.
