Nashville Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson beat St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester with a gorgeous move to score a goal in his team’s Friday win.

Arvidsson carried the puck down the wing and put it between his legs to confuse Bouwmeester. He then cut around the former Canadian Olympian and then tucked the puck around Jake Allen for the goal.

“I’ve tried it before in practices and stuff, some games, but I haven’t been able to put it in the net,” Arvidsson said according to NHL.com. “So it was nice to see it go in. I just felt I had a little more speed than the (defense). That was it.”

The goal came at the 17:36 mark of the second period and put Nashville up 3-0. The Predators beat St. Louis 4-0.

In a year that has seen the Predators play some inconsistent hockey, Arvidsson has been one of the group’s surprise bright spots. He is currently ranked second in team points with 24 and first amongst Nashville forwards at plus-8.

The game against St. Louis was the seventh straight for Nashville without superstar defenseman P.K. Subban, who is out with an upper-body injury. During this stretch, the Predators have gone 3-2-2. They are now 16-14-6 and one point back of the Dallas Stars for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
