    Toronto's Koevermans gone for season

TORONTO (AP) -- Toronto FC striker Danny Koevermans has a torn left knee ligament and will be out the rest of the season.

The MLS club says there is no date set for the surgery.

The team also didn't provide a timetable for the Dutch forward's return.

Koevermans had an MRI on Monday after injuring his knee in Saturday night's 1-0 win over the New England Revolution. Koevermans was hurt as he chased a ball on the right side of the penalty area in the 37th minute. Defender A.J. Soares collided with him in what appeared to be a clash of knees.

Koevermans is tied for fifth in league goal-scoring with nine this season.
