Spain routs Denmark to win handball worlds

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Spain routed Denmark 35-19 before a home crowd Sunday to win its second world handball championship.

Spain's defense triggered a counterattack that overran Denmark.

Spain's first world championship came in 2005. Denmark lost its third final after also finishing runner-up in 1967 and 2011.
