Update: Sizemore (knee) will switch back to second base next season, the Bay Area News Group reports.
Recommendation: Sizemore was expected to start for the A's at third base this season, but that plan was derailed when he tore his ACL in spring training, causing him to miss the entire season. After the team traded away Cliff Pennington on Saturday, second base is now a weak spot for the team, with the disappointing Jemile Weeks and the unremarkable Adam Rosales the only holdovers at the position. If Sizemore, who has played most of his career at second base, demonstrates he can hit the way he did for the A's back in 2011, he could have the inside track for the starting job next season.
