    QMJHL Roundup:Miceli scores in shootout as Victoriaville holds off Rouyn-Noranda

    Angelo Miceli saved the Victoriaville Tigres from some embarrassment on home ice.

    Miceli scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Tigres beat the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 6-5 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Wednesday.

    Miceli also scored in regulation for Victoriaville (24-23-8), which blew a 4-1 lead. Philippe Haley scored twice for the Tigres, while Carl-Antoine Delisle and Philippe Maillet added singles.

    Allan Caron, Gabriel Slight, Maxime St-Cyr, Nikita Kucherov and Sven Andrighetto replied for the Huskies (31-21-3), who scored twice in the third to force extra time.

    Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Val-d'Or 4, Sherbrooke 2; Baie-Comeau 4, Chicoutimi 1; and Gatineau 9, Cape Breton 1.

    At Victoriaville, Que., Haley's second goal 33 seconds into the second period on a power play gave the Tigres a 4-1 lead.

    Andrighetto and Slight each scored on the power play to cut the deficit to one, but Maillet put Victoraville back up 5-3 with a short-handed goal heading into the third.

    Rouyn-Noranda then rallied with a goal at 1:39 by Kucherov, and Caron's goal at 9:53 tied the game to eventually earn the Huskies a point from the result.

    Tigres goaltender Brandon Whitney made 27 saves, while Alexandre Belanger stopped 24 shots for Rouyn-Noranda.

    At Sherbrooke, Que., Anthony Richard scored twice to lift Val-d'Or (30-22-3) past the Cataractes (13-34-7).

    At Baie-Comeau, Que., the Drakkar (36-14-5) opened up a 2-0 lead in the first period to overcome a 37-save performance by Christopher Gibson for Chicoutimi (24-26-5).

    At Gatineau, Que., Emilie Poirier had three goals and an assists as the Olympiques (26-25-3) chased Cape Breton (11-35-8) off the rink.
