QMJHL Roundup: Huskies score four in a row to defeat lowly Cataractes 4-1

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. - The Shawinigan Cataractes are still looking for their second win of the Quebec Junior Hockey League season.

Shawinigan (1-12-2) scored the game's first goal, only to lose again 4-1 to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Thursday.

Ilya Zinoviev gave the visitors hope when he opened the scoring at 18:15 of the first period, only to have Jason Fuchs tie it for Rouyn-Noranda (8-5-1) at 15:23 of the second period.

Jean-Sebastien Dea scored the winner on the power-play at 6:46 of the third period, and the Huskies added to their lead with goals from Jeremy Lauzon, and one shorthanded by Quinn O'Brien.

Alexander Belanger made 19 saves for the Huskies. Storm Phaneuf stopped 27 shots for the Cataractes.

OLYMPIQUES 4 PHOENIX 1

At Sherbrooke, Que., Emile Poirier scored twice, and Gatineau had four unanswered goals in their win over the Phoenix.

Vincent Deslauriers opened the scoring for Sherbrooke (4-10-1) in the first period, and it was all Gatineau after that.

Vincent Dunn tied the score for the Olympiques (11-5-0) in the second period, and Jonathan Bourcier got the winner. Poirier made it 3-1 in the second period, and added an empty-net goal in the third, giving him 12 for the season.

Poirier is tied with Cameron Darcy of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles for second in the league goal-scoring race behind Anthony Mantha of Val-d'Or, who leads with 19.

Robert Steeves made 20 saves for Gatineau, and Francis Desrosiers stopped 32 shots for Sherbrooke.
