Update: Sykora signed a contract with SC Bern in Switzerland on Tuesday, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Recommendation: Sykora was hoping to land an NHL job, but he couldn't find a taker, so he decided to head to Switzerland to play. Sykora could still wind up in the NHL this season, but he will have to clear waivers before signing with a team of his choice.
