OHL Roundup: Martin stops 31 shots as Mississauga edges Sault Ste. Marie 4-2

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Spencer Martin made 31 saves and Bryson Cianfrone had an empty-net goal and an assist as the Steelheads doubled up the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday.

Trevor Carrick, Damian Bourne, and Dylan Smoskowitz also scored for Mississauga (16-21-4), who was outshot 33-17.

Michael Bunting and Kyle Jenkins replied for the Greyhounds (26-10-5). Sergey Tolchinsky chipped in with two assists.

Sault Ste. Marie's Brandon Halverson made 13 of 16 saves.

BATTALION 6 RANGERS 3

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Barclay Goodrow and Matt MacLeod had a goal and an assist apiece, and the Battalion got four more goals from four different players en route to a win against the Rangers.

Marcus McIvor, Zach Bratina, Jamie Lewis, and Nick Paul all scored for North Bay (19-16-5), while Dylan Blujus, Connor Jarvis, Alex Henriksson, and Mike Amadio chipped in with two assists apiece.

Curtis Meighan had two goals for Kitchener (14-24-1) and Ryan MacInnis also scored.

North Bay's Jake Smith made 24 saves for the win while Matthew Greenfield of the Rangers stopped 30 of 35 shots.

FRONTENACS 4 SPITFIRES 2

KINGSTON, Ont. — Matt Mahalak made 37 saves and Sam Bennett and Spencer Watson each had a goal and an assist to lift the Frontenacs over Windsor.

Samuel Schutt and Darcy Greenaway also scored for Kingston (23-12-4), and Michael Moffat picked up two assists.

Steven Janes and Brady Vail had goals for Windsor (25-14-1), and Remy Giftopoulos contributed with an assist on both scores.

Goaltender Dalen Kuchmey stopped 35 shots for the Spitfires.

SPIRIT 3 STORM 2

SAGINAW, Mich. — Nick Moutrey scored the eventual winner in the second period, and Saginaw staved off a Guelph comeback to secure their 18th win of the season.

Dylan Sadowy and Jimmy Lodge also scored for the Spirit (18-17-5).

Down 3-0 late in the second period, Scott Kosmachuk scored his 28th of the season for Guelph (29-8-3), and Robby Fabbri added a power-play goal with 51 seconds to go.

Nikita Serebryakov made 20 saves for the victory while Justin Nichols stopped 26 of 29 shots in the Storm's defeat.
