NHL Three Stars: Saros, Dell notch first NHL shutouts

No. 1 Star: Juuse Saros, Nashville Predators

The rookie goaltender stopped all 25 shots on goal in a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues on Friday. With the victory, Saros improved to 3-2-1 with a 1.16 goal-against average and .957 save percentage. The shutout was Saros’ first of his NHL career.

No 2 Star: Aaron Dell, San Jose Sharks

The 27-year-old Dell picked up the first shutout of his NHL career in his fifth start with a 21-save performance in a 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Dell became the 18th different goaltender in Sharks history to record a regular season shutout. With the victory, the Pacific Division leading Sharks improved to 8-2-0 in their last 10.

No. 3 Star: Henrik Sedin Vancouver Canucks

Sedin fired the overtime winner in his team’s 3-2 comeback victory over the Anaheim Ducks. Sedin’s overtime winner was his sixth of his career, tying Mattias Ohlund for fourth-most in Canucks history. Sedin has picked up at least one point in five straight games against the Ducks.
