NFL-National Football League roundup

Dec 20 (The Sports Xchange) - Commissioner Roger Goodell informed NFL teams there would be no relocation to Los Angeles for the 2015 season. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Goodell reached out to officials with the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams to tell them Los Angeles is not an option for 2015. All three teams are embroiled in stadium issues. The Raiders, who are in Oakland by way of Los Angeles, have no stadium lease for 2015 and owner Mark Davis investigated other options, including San Antonio. The Rams are in a similar spot with a building -- the Edward Jones Dome -- the team rates as antiquated -- but there is no plan for a major renovation or new stadium site. The Chargers this week announced they would be at Qualcomm Stadium for 2015, but their future is not clear beyond next year. Goodell said at the NFL owners meetings in March the league is confident a team will make its way to Los Angeles "when the situation is right." There are also talks of a team in London, which the commissioner discussed at length during the three International Series games in England this season. The NFL has been trying to land a team in Los Angeles since the Raiders went back to Oakland in 1995. - - - Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is questionable to play Monday night's game at the Cincinnati Bengals. The team listed Manning as questionable with a thigh injury on Saturday's injury report. Newton sustained two fractures in his lower back in a vehicle accident less than two weeks ago. - - - The Dallas Cowboys expect running back DeMarco Murray to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, despite a broken left hand.
