Devils' Lovejoy moved by Engelland's 'powerful' speech

Ever since their time together in the minor leagues, Ben Lovejoy always knew how much love Deryk Engelland had for Las Vegas. What he learned Tuesday night is how eloquently he could convey it.

Like many who watched Engelland address the crowd before the Vegas Golden Knights celebrated their first game on home ice against the backdrop of tragedy, Lovejoy wanted to reach out and commend his former teammate for the incredible job he did in such an emotionally-charged moment.

We caught up with Lovejoy in Toronto to talk about Engelland’s “powerful” speech, and the role the Golden Knights can play in helping heal a community.
