Three-time Ballon d'Or winner and Dutch legend Johan Cruyff feels his former team Ajax has the opportunity to go far in the Champions League by playing Manchester City early in the competition.
Having defeated City already 3-1 earlier in the group stage, the 65-year-old is optimistic the Amsterdam giant can repeat the heroics from a fortnight ago.
"It's simple, you play to win," Cruyff told De Telegraaf. "In the event of a draw, you still risk losing and it will be very difficult regardless.
"I think it is an advantage that Ajax are playing Manchester City now. They must take the initiative [after their loss to Ajax]."
According to Cruyff, the Eredivisie holder already has the momentum.
"There are many less chances [for Ajax] to make mistakes," he said. "Attacking teams are often set for trouble after November."
