The Chivas USA garage sale continues, as the Goats sent second-year forward Casey Townsend to D.C. United in exchange for the capital club's natural second-round SuperDraft pick in 2014.
Townsend, 23, returns to an area where he's familiar with, having played college soccer for the University of Maryland. He is the sixth player to leave Chivas USA since Jose Luis Sanchez Sola was named manager last month, and veteran star Shalrie Joseph could be next to follow.
Townsend recorded one goal and two assists in 17 games for Chivas in his rookie season.
