Michigan's Rich Rodriguez says Purdue coach Danny Hope blamed him for getting one of his players suspended. Rodriguez says Hope introduced him to guard Zach Reckman after the Boilermakers' 38-36 win Saturday and said, "Thanks Coach, we appreciate what you did." Reckman was suspended for a game because of a late hit against Northern Illinois in September. ...More |

When Danny Hope reviewed the game film, he counted nine dropped passes by Purdue receivers.
Or three more than the number of first downs Purdue's offense produced through the first three quarters of the 37-0 blowout loss to Wisconsin.
Hope took the obvious step of working on catching the ball in practice this week as the Boilermakers prepare for a road game at Michigan.
"We ran some sloppy routes, and that affected the passing game in some ways," Hope said. "As the game progressed, we got behind and had to throw it. When you only have one plan and you have to throw it, then things can change out there on you."
The loss was disheartening if only because Purdue had shown so much progress the previous two weeks with wins against Ohio State and Illinois. ...More |
