There was rejoicing in Las Cruces, N.M., Saturday night.
After a stretch of 20 quarters of action, the equivalent of five games, New Mexico State quarterback Jeff Fleming hit wide receiver Marcus Allen for a 14-yard touchdown pass to score the Aggies' first offensive touchdown since Oct. 10. It felt so good, the pair hooked up again for an 11-yard score. Of course, the Aggies were trailing the Nevada Wolf Pack 63-6 in the fourth quarter at the time and facing the emptied bench of one of the nation's hottest team's at the time. Small victories.
