Gophers coach Tim Brewster looks at what Ron Zook has done at Illinois and sees a model to follow. He has watched Zook take a program from the ashes—Brewster's alma mater—and build it into one of the top teams in the conference.

This week, Brewster returns to his college for the first time as Gophers coach.

Illinois advanced to the Rose Bowl in Zook's third year. Brewster is now in his second at Minnesota, where the Gophers haven't played in a Rose Bowl in 46 years. This season will more than likely run that streak to 47.
