The Cardinals have an extra week to stew over the 26-21 loss to Connecticut on Sept. 26. More importantly, it has an extra week to heal and nearly a month before it resumes Big East play on Oct. 25.

That's particularly important for quarterback Hunter Cantwell, who limped off the field against the Huskies with a sprained ankle only to limp back on again because Louisville didn't have a better chance. When a team is counting on a hobbling QB to stand in the pocket and deliver the ball, it's not a recipe for high performance, and indeed of his last 10 passes on Friday two were completed and two intercepted.

He'll have a break as part of a bizarre schedule for the Cardinals.
