Kaepernick paces Nevada to 31-21 win over Hawaii

Colin Kaepernick threw two touchdown passes and rushed for a pair of scores to lead Nevada to a 31-21 victory over Hawaii on Saturday. Vai Taua added 127 yards on the ground and caught a touchdown pass for Nevada (5-3, 4-0 WAC). Kaepernick passed for 184 yards and ran for 114 more for the nation's top running game, which gained 312 yards. ...More

The Warriors have lost six straight and now must win their final five games to get a bowl berth.

The first part of that stretch is at least workable. The next three opponents are Utah State, New Mexico State and San Jose State—three struggling teams.

Coach Greg McMackin says he will continue to coach his team to win those games and not begin developing players for next season.

"I wouldn't do that to our seniors," he told the Honolulu Advertiser. "They've worked hard, and they deserve to win. We're doing everything we can to give them a chance to win."

McMackin has called this year two of a two-year rebuilding project. The Warriors lost nearly all of their offensive players in 2008. ...More
