After a string of stinging losses, the Connecticut Huskies finally won one for their slain teammate. Coach Randy Edsall called the Huskies' double-overtime victory against Notre Dame the program's "best win." Even though this isn't one of the best Notre Dame teams of recent memory, knocking off the Fighting Irish in double overtime has to go down as perhaps the most important win in UConn football history. Just ask its coach.

"There is no doubt that this is the biggest and best win that we've had so far in the short time that we've been an FBS school," Randy Edsall said after the 33-30 victory.

UConn has had a hard time getting respect, and it's made the news this season more for the tragic death of Jasper Howard than for what it has done on the field. Entering the weekend, the Huskies' year had been more noted for missed opportunities than wins, which left Connecticut with the dubious claim to being the best 4-5 team in the country.
