Kent State knocks off Western Michigan 26-14

KENT, Ohio (AP)—Spencer Keith threw for 373 yards and two touchdowns to lead Kent State to a 26-14 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday.

Keith was 24-for-34 and threw scoring passes of 34 and 19 yards to Tyshon Goode as the Golden Flashes (5-4, 4-1 Mid-American Conference) won their third straight.

Goode finished with 11 catches for 198 yards and Jacquise Terry added 90 yards rushing and a 15-yard touchdown run for Kent State, which had 477 yards of total offense.

Kent State, which led 13-7 at halftime, also was 10-for-14 on third-down conversions.

The Golden Flashes held Western Michigan (4-5, 3-3) to 38 yards rushing on 22 attempts and Monte Simmons had three sacks.

The Broncos’ Tim Hiller was 31-for-49 for 255 yards and touchdown passes of 2 yards to Ansel Ponder and 9 yards to Robert Arnheim.
