CMU beat MSU, MSU beat UofM, Uof M beat Notre Dame, Notre Dame is ranked 25, Michigan almost beat #11 Iowa, and I thumb-wrestled my wife and lost. The best team is CMU because I say so and rankings are all about money and all the stupid bowl games. Why can't there be a ten game season followed by some super-computer coaches poll rainbow pony line-up of three more games that should be played. I would love to see Cincy play Ohio State, LSU play Florida, and just think how awesome it could be if only we got to actually see who the best team was. Of course there is absolutely no guarantee that Uof M wouldn't beat CMU or for that matter, Saginaw Valley State University wouldn't embarass Central on any given day. That's why the game is played, or as the BCS puts it, that's why we call the shots and the games aren't played.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that CMU is the best team in Michigan. The upset victory over MSU and mauling of EMU certainly helps their claim though. Today's victory over EMU was expected. EMU had won four of the previous five meetings between the two in-state rivals. Safe to say that Butch Jones and Dan LeFevour wanted this Homecoming victory badly. Jones deserved the Gatorade shower at the end of the game. Bring on Western Michigan! After seeing WMU put up 58 points on Toledo CMU can anticipate a challenging contest on the road. Typically the home team has a huge advantage in this rivalry, but I suspect that with the way the CMU defense is playing it will be a tough task for WMU. Very underrated rivalry, but one of the best.

So, CMU beat MSU and MSU beat UM and UM beat EMU, but had a heck of a tough time in doing so. So, does this make CMU the best team in Michigan? I guess we will see what happens against WMU.
