SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP)—Lee Chapple threw for 187 yards and one touchdown to help Georgia Southern beat Wofford 26-21 on Saturday.
The Eagles (3-2, 2-1 Southern Conference) trailed 14-10 in the second quarter when Wofford’s Mitch Allen scored on a 3-yard run. But Georgia Southern regained the lead on a 24-yard run by Darreion Robinson, who finished with 78 yards on 13 carries.
Adam Urbano added 56 yards on the ground on 13 attempts, including a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the Eagles. Chapple completed 25-of-28 passes, despite being sacked four times by the Terriers (1-4, 0-2).
Wofford’s Mike Rucker rushed for 95 yards on 10 carries. Allen was 4-for-9 with 83 yards passing, threw two touchdowns and had one interception.
The Terriers outrushed Georgia Southern 234-148.
