HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP)—Kevin Atkins passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in Alabama A&M’s 31-24 win over Hampton on Saturday night.
Atkins completed 18 of 30 passes for 303 yards for the Bulldogs. He has passed for 535 yards and five touchdowns in two games this season.
Thomas Harris had 10 catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama A&M (2-0).
Ulysses Banks ran for 102 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries for Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs amassed more than 400 yards of total offense for the second straight game.
Hampton (1-1) stayed close thanks to the efforts of Lamarcus Coker and quarterback David Legree. Coker, who returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown, also rushed for 122 yards and another score. Legree, who was sacked eight times, passed for 190 yards and a touchdown.
