New Hampshire holds off Ball State, 23-16

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP)—Sean Jellison ran for two touchdowns Saturday and New Hampshire held on to defeat Ball State 23-16.

R.J. Toman threw for 212 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 51 yards for the Wildcats (2-0). Jellison finished with 55 yards rushing and 43 yards receiving.

Joey Orlando scored the other TD for New Hampshire and Devon Jackson tackled Kelly Page in the end zone for a safety.

Ball State (0-2) cut the Wildcats’ lead to 23-16 on Page’s 21-yard pass to Seth White with 8:50 to play. But the Cardinals’ final drive did not get past the New Hampshire 20-yard line.

    I know that Ball State is rebuilding this year, but they got dominated by UNH.

    UNH has beat all D-1 opponents since 2004. Those wins include Rutgers, Marshall and Northwestern,
