NORFOLK, Va. (AP)—Dennis Brown had two rushing touchdowns to help Norfolk State beat Morgan State 35-6 on Saturday.
The Spartans (4-6, 3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) took a 14-0 first half lead after DeAngelo Branche scored on a 1-yard run and Brown added a 5-yard scoring run.
Norfolk State ahead 21-9 in the third quarter on Brown’s 4-yard touchdown run. The Bears (6-4, 4-2) closed within 12 points in the fourth when Jephte Cherenfant caught a 9-yard scoring pass from Mario Melton.
But Hasan Craig returned a fumble 34 yards for a touchdown and Don Carey scored on a 94-yard interception to put the game away for the Spartans.
Branche led Norfolk State with 86 yards rushing. Brown also completed 9 of 17 passes for 78 yards.
Melton went 6 of 16 threw for 100 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for Morgan State.
