ECU’s Marshall leaves game with leg injury
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP)—East Carolina safety Dekota Marshall left Thursday night’s game against No. 22 Virginia Tech with a right leg injury.
Marshall was hurt when he took a hard hit from a Hokies player near midfield while on punt coverage with about 10 minutes left in the first quarter. Medical staff put a brace on his leg and wheeled him off the field on a stretcher.
The junior was 10th on the team with 23 tackles and was tied for the team lead with seven stops on special teams.
He was not expected back to return to the game.
