Utah's appearance in the College Basketball Invitational may have been under the radar, but head coach Jim Boylen hopes the experience will help put the Utes back on the map.
A team that returns all five starters next season got two extra games and 10 additional days of practice under its belt with an 81-69 victory at UTEP and a 69-60 second-round loss at Tulsa.
"We cannot put a price on that, in this program," Boylen said.
Utah (18-15) made impressive strides in its first season under Boylen, recording seven more wins than last year and posting a winning record for the first time since 2004-05.
