Nikola Cvetinovic and Chris McKnight scored 13 points apiece to lead a balanced attack in Akron's 69-52 victory over Howard on Sunday. Anthony Hitchens and Brett McClanahan each added 10 points for the Zips (2-2), who led by as many as 29 before resting most of their starters at the Glenn Wilkes Classic. ...More |

When a coach takes over a program, instilling a new culture is tantamount to success.
That shouldn't be a problem for Gil Jackson of Howard. Entering his fourth season with the Bison, the four-man senior class represents the first batch of recruits Jackson brought into the program after being hired following a stint as an assistant at Pennsylvania.
Those seniors will have to shoulder a considerable scoring burden. Howard lost its top two offensive weapons from last season, including first team all-conference selection Eugene Myatt and underclassman Chris McHenry, who transferred.
Kyle Riley, a junior, actually is the top returning scorer at 9.4 points per game, but he can't do it alone. ...More |
