Since Coach Bruiser Flint termed his first season at Drexel as "The Miracle on 34th Street" when the team came out of nowhere to compile an 11-7 record in the CAA, The Philadelphia Daily News thought it was only fitting that this season be called "Disappointment at the DAC."
What was expected to be a promising season turned into one of the biggest disappointments in the conference. The Dragons had four experienced players returning, had a go-to player in center Frank Elegar and were coming off a 23-9 season.
Drexel was picked to finish fourth in the league in the preseason poll and gave no indication that anything less would happen when it got off to a 5-1 start.
