LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP)—Sherron Collins scored 19 points and Cole Aldrich had 13 points and 13 rebounds, leading No. 1 Kansas past Fort Hays State 107-68 in an exhibition game Tuesday night.

FACT: Kansas is returning the same team this year that MSU beat last year.
FACT: Michigan State had to play through both Louisville and Uconn to get to the Championship game.
FACT: There are no facts to support that Kansas is a better team than MSU at this point. Only speculation based on their talent.
FACT: Do you know how many teams were touted as being the next champions based on talent only to fall flat on their faces? More often than not.
We will see who goes farther in the big dance this year. A preseason ranking that's based on pure speculation is not worth a hill of beans.

1.) Why would we want tickets to a game at Cameron unless Kansas is playing?
2.) We're smarter than that.
3.) Our games are sold out long before that.
Perhaps that's it. Who knows?
But in the meantime...

That being said MSU is playing the team that was actually good enough to win the ACC last year, not you guys :-) (please ignore the results of both games where we played the team good enough to win the ACC last year :-) )
Good luck to you guys too. Should be a fun year.

Trash talk?? Oh my yes! It's fun. As a Dookie (one who's SON passed puberty about 10 years ago) I trash talk with ADULT UNC fans all the time. It's part of the fun. But underneath it all it total respect for both programs. UNC for Duke and Duke for UNC. Again, that's in the ADULT community. Nice to see the same holds up there in Big 12/Big 10 land.
Oh yea Spartanbdb - ACCs gonna kick some Big 10 tail in the challenge AGAIN this year. Big 10 sucks! (Just had to put that in to disguise my true age!) Good luck guys! Should be a fantastic year.

You speak like a true fan and one who LOVES his team but is also realistic! MSU has a great team and a great coach who is a proven winner. As a lifelong KU fan, I am a lot like you in the fact that I try and be very realistic when talking about my team. Whether or not KU wins or not remains to be seen, but, MSU's chances of winning it are just as good as KU or any other team in the top...it just takes the talent along with the great coaches that all the top teams have!
Good luck to you this Basketball season!!

As far as Winstar's comment that KU won't be #1 long, that is just plain crazy. As a diehard MSU fan and alum, I would like to say that MSU is better but fact of the matter is that they are not. IMHO, KU is better than UNC was last year and that is just scary. Hopefully MSU's youth will develop and learn to play big time college basketball by the time the tournament rolls around and that shouldn't be an issue with Izzo as the coach but they will have to play out of their minds to beat KU.

Are you really that stupid ... or just a MSU moron homer trying to pump up your boys?!?
Oh yeah ... and please explain what you saw in last night’s exhibition game that leads you to write this little gem of a commentary, " But, as it goes, KU won't be number 1 long as soon as the real season starts."
I am waiting anxiously for your thoughtful and enlightening analysis!

If you knew anything at all about sports you'd know why they are ranked number one...They went pretty deep in the Tournament last year, returned all their starters and had a top recruiting class, including a top 5 recruit.
Yes they did get beat by the better team last year...twice, there is no question about that.
I personally hope KU gets beat once or twice and then turn it on come March...just like they did in 07-08

Now, to say that MSU was lucky that they beat KU, Louisville (the top seeded team in the tourney)
and UConn (another 1 seeded team) is just plain idiotic and your comments are like pollution.
MSU beat those teams because of their defense and their play. If they would have lost to Louisville
and/or UConn in the tourney last year, I may agree with you.
But when you have a run where you beat a pretty good USC team in the second round, a decent
team in KU in the third, the top-seeded team in Louisville, who I might add was blowing people out
by 40 all the way to the MSU game, and another 1 seed in UConn, regardless of the allegations,
you cannot say they were lucky. NO ONE was going to beat UNC last year, NO ONE, not even the
Jayhawks.
But, as it goes, KU won't be number 1 long as soon as the real season starts.
