Duquesne’s Bolding out 4-6 weeks
PITTSBURGH (AP)—Duquesne sophomore guard Melquan Bolding is expected to be out four to six weeks with a broken right wrist.
The 6-foot-3 Bolding was injured while being fouled about 4 minutes into the Dukes’ 85-62 victory over Nicholls State on Friday. He stayed in the game and scored a career-high 25 points in 36 minutes.
Bolding is scheduled to have surgery to stabilize the break on Tuesday. The Dukes play that night at Iowa.
Bolding made the all-Atlantic 10 freshman team by averaging 9.9 points last season. He averaged 14 points in four games as the Dukes made a surprise run to the A-10 tournament championship game.
